A NEW TREASURE HUNT!

Based on "Miracle on 34th Street"

  • 2009 Shop Rome First Treasure Hunt

Taking a cue from Rome Art & Community Center's Holiday House theme, "Miracle on 34th Street," the Rome Chamber and Jervis Public Library partnered this year to develop a hunt all about life in Rome in 1947, the release year for the popular holiday movie. Lisa Matte, JPL director, researched and worked with the Rome Chamber to find timely questions for forty-one businesses that will each post an answer for one question for four weeks, between November 24 and December 21.

    Treasure Hunt RULES:

The contest officially starts November 24, the first day businesses are required to display the answers in-store. This year, the Treasure Hunt has been extended to a 4-week event, through December 21. The public is invited to hunt for the correct answers in 41 local stores while they shop. Each store will display only one Official Shop Rome First Treasure Hunt Answer Sign somewhere within their store. Eager detectives might jump into research at Jervis Public Library, given a head start with the Treasure Hunt questions below.

For the contest, only official Treasure Hunt Question Forms will be accepted. These forms will be available Monday, November 23 at these locations: Jervis Public Library and Rome Chamber. Or you can download and print the official Treasure Hunt Question Form. Submitted forms with ALL forty-one (41) correct answers will be entered into a separate, special Treasure Hunt drawing. One winner will be selected on Tuesday, December 22.

Please PRINT YOUR ANSWER CLEARLY below each question. Illegible responses may disqualify your entry. Completed forms must be received in the Chamber no later than 12 noon, Monday, December 21. You may submit your form by U.S. mail or hand-delivery to 139 W. Dominick Street, Rome, NY 13440, or via fax (337-1715).
